A little birdie told me these will catch fish at Glade Creek.
Recipe
Hook: Daiichi 1750 (#6-#12) Lead for added weight (optional) Thread: To match Bugger Bead head (Optional) Rib: Copper wire Tail: Marabou Body: Goat
Step 1
Here I am trying to show how to add a bead to your hook without stabbing yourself. I use needle nose pliers on the larger hooks to hold the bead because it is sometimes hard to get the bead past the barb.
Step 2
Now its time to add the lead
Step 3
Now for a good thread base and wrap to the point of the hook.
Step 4
Add the tail, make it the length of the hook shank for great action. Also don't forget to get a good body shape by doubling back the feather ends.
Step 5
Now add your copper wire. I went past the hook point this time with the thread because I suck. Oh well, it'll fish.
Step 6
Now, make a good long dubbing loop and add your goat hair. Wrap the loop to the head and tie it off. I was making my loops 6-8 inches long, but maybe you fellers can do it with less.
Step 7
Now wrap the wire forward. I wrap my wire clock wise so it ties down better for me.
Step 8
Now take your pick or scissor point and pull out some of the hair between the wire wraps. I find that picking the hair from front to back works the best. You want to do this on the top and bottom only. Now tie it off after a few more thread wraps to clean it up a little. Here are some variations you may or may not like. (Below)
