Instructions
to Tie:
Cover hook shank with thread. Tie in pheasant tippet fibers for tail. Wrap thread forward to about a distance of a hook eye and a half behind the hook eye. Tie in duck quill (length should equal distance from barb of hook back to the base of the wing) pull duck quill up and back and build a small damn in front of quill, separate and figurate the quills, wrap each wing with 5 to 6 turns of thread on each wing to help hold in and upright position, adjust wings pointing up in forward, cement the base of wings. Wrap thread back to the rear of hook just in front of pheasant tippets. Tie in peacock herl for but wrap 4 turns then tie off with thread, clip and tie in floss, rap 4 to 6 turns and tie off with black thread, tie in peacock herl rap several wraps trying to build up a tapered body, tie off. Tie in hackle dull side up wrap three turns behind wing and two turns in front of wing. Whip finish and cement head.
